2021 Regional Meeting Bus Trip – Saturday July 17

Join us for great day out!!!  Everyone is welcome!  Bring friends!  You don’t have to be a HADS member to come.

The Connecticut Daylily Society is hosting our Regional Meeting this year.  The date is July 17th, 2021.  Because of COVID restrictions, the meeting is being held in a much-abbreviated format.  We will be meeting at Kim Krodel’s house at 1:00 pm (on her front lawn) in Avon, CT.  New officers will be elected and awards presented.  You can read all the information on the regional website:  https://cdsregional.weebly.com/

There is also a link on the regional website to buy daylilies supporting the meeting.  Click on the Daylily Sale in the heading and download the Excel spreadsheet listing the available plants.  The plants will be picked up at Cheryl Fox’s garden (one of the gardens we are visiting) on the day of the meeting.

We have a bus going to the meeting and visiting gardens on the way there and on the way back.  The bus will leave the Sam’s Club parking lot in Latham Farms at 8:00 am.  People are responsible for their own breakfast and beverages.  Water will be provided by HADS.  Lunch will be available from Panera (limited menu) unless you wish to bring your own lunch.  (Coolers will be available.)  We expect to return about 7 to 8 pm.

HADS is charging $15 for the trip without lunch and $25 for the trip if lunch is included.

Please bring a FOLDING CHAIR – there will be no other seating available.  Since all the chairs will be stowed in the bottom of the bus, it would be a good idea to put a tag or some form of ID on your chair.

Also, be sure to bring a MASK, the CT Daylily Society is asking that everyone wear masks at the meeting. You may also want to bring HAT/SUNSCREEN/UMBRELLA.

You can reserve your spot for the trip at:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0848A8AC2CAB9-7172021

If you indicate on your sign up that you want to order lunch, you will receive an e-mail between July 6th and the date of the trip which will take you to a website so you can enter your selections from the special Panera menu.

Checks should be sent to Debi Chowdhury at:  4 Derby Ct., Loudonville, NY  12211

We need you to sign up by July 6th in order to get lunches ordered.

The bus will be stopping on the Mass Pike on the way over and back for bathroom breaks.  We will be visiting Don and Nancy Smith’s garden, which is a selling garden; Cheryl Fox and Phil Danville’s garden (lots of daylilies, and is the pickup site if you pre-order any daylilies on the regional site); Kim and Rob Krodel’s garden where the meeting will be held; Chrissie and John D’Esopo’s garden (lots of conifers and annuals); and O’Briens Nursery (daylilies, hostas and conifers – bring a checkbook or cash, they don’t take credit cards).
