Capital District Garden and Flower Show at Hudson Valley Community College on

2018 Regional Meeting

There will be a Regional Meeting in 2018 – it will be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, July 27th to 29th. The website is up and running with hotel information, schedules and registration information. The
keynote speaker is Allan Banks, who is a member of the Nova Scotia Daylily Society and hybridizes locally in Nova Scotia. He has 30 registered daylilies.

$500 Scholarship Offered for a
Qualifying Senior!

On behalf of the Upstate New York Hosta Society (UNYHS), we are writing at this time to share a $500.00 scholarship opportunity for a graduating senior student who is interested in entering College or an accredited Postsecondary Vocational training program in one of the following qualifying fields of study:

Landscape Design/Architect, Floriculture, Greenhouse Management, Landscape Maintenance, Gardener/Groundskeeper, Golf Course Maintenance, Arborist, Floral Design, Biology, Natural Resources, Ecology, Environmental Science or other type of Horticultural major.

Notices have already been sent to local Capital District high schools. Please note that extra consideration will be given to friends and family of current members of the Hosta, Daylily or Iris societies by indicating that person’s name on the attached application. The final deadline for submitting the completed application is
APRIL 10th.
