Diane Steele has a unique perspective about her passion for watercolor based on her interests and formal training. With a master’s background in environmental science, and a broad range of hobbies including photography, gardening, and model railroading her desire is to embrace the subject by finding art in nature and then share the resulting gifts with the world. For more than 35 years as a floral designer, she has a unique perspective of all that are “flowers.” Her handcrafted bouquets of seasonal heirloom roses, rare iris, and fresh-picked lilies-of-the-valley from her perennial gardens lend themselves to sketches for the bridal proposals, future commissions, or paintings of unique style.

Diane has now expanded her endeavors by teaching basic watercolor in many locations in the Capital District. She has shown and sold her work throughout the Northeast, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania and won numerous awards. Her blog allows the visitor into the artist’s world and the joy involved in each new creation.
