January Meeting
Now that the hustle and bustle of the Holidays is behind us, it’s time to think about plants! We are looking forward to Denise Maurer’s presentation on “Stunning Succulents” at our meeting on January 18th at the William K. Sanford Library on Albany Shaker Rd. in Colonie. Please note that the meeting will start at 1:00 pm instead of our usual start time due to a scheduling conflict at the library.

You’ve got to love succulents. Give them plenty of sun, and water occasionally, and they will reward you with show stopping textures, colors and offspring. Learn how easy it is to incorporate them into your home and landscapes. Buying and growing tips will be included along with plenty of inspiration to create succulent dish gardens and vertical mosaics.
Denise Maurer is a Master Gardener with Cornell Cooperative Extension – Rensselaer County. As owner of Denise Maurer Interiors, she has specialized in residential interior design for over 30 years. Her sense of design is carried into her personal gardening style where she combines flowers and vegetables with ornamentation. Denise is a frequent speaker about gardening using color and design.
Winter Doldrums Gathering
No, it’s not the Flu or even a sickness that will hit you on February 16th. Maybe it’s more like a weariness and malaise that sets in after the Holidays and continues through mid-April or even later in some years. We like to think that part of the solution is to have a great garden talk, a luncheon and just get together to party a little! The Doldrums party is a really fun and educational event at a time when we’re all chomping at the bit to get back into our gardens!
